Awanthi Jayasundara is a PhD student at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, University College Dublin (UCD). Her research focuses on Distributed Learning in Open Radio Access Networks (ORAN), optimizing security cost, communication cost, and learning accuracy through Distributed Learning Automation (DLA). She aims to address deployment challenges in autonomous ORAN infrastructures through systematic evaluation.
She holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, receiving the S. D. Jayasundere Memorial Gold Medal for outstanding research performance. Her undergraduate work on wireless communication simulators for vortex waves showcased her expertise in signal processing and network optimization.
Previously, she worked as a Lecturer (Probationary) at the University of Ruhuna, specializing in Computer Architecture and software-related subjects, and as a QA Automation Engineer at Enactor, gaining hands-on industry experience in software development and testing.
